About Me

Sydney Martinez
Well hello! My name is Sydney, and I. AM. RUNNER BITCH! I definitely would have picked a different name, but everything cool was taken, soooo here it is! RBB. Here at RBB we love running, clearly! Food, beer, raising an awesome family, and making the most out of life. Not in that order. In May of 2014 my husband and I got out of the Marine Corps and relocated our familia to good ole Utah. REWIND! 2 and a half years ago, I was blessed with this little man.

He's so funny, so awesome, and clearly takes after me! After Ruger was born I started to run. I started to run for 26.2 miles. My first marathon was the Marine Corps birthday run and I could not have hated it any more! I could barely walk the next week. Funny thing about running though, it hurts so bad, and then you sign up for your next race. Rock n Roll Vegas here I came! Before Vegas however This man came into my life and married my son and I.

Back to Vegas. I ran that marathon with a horrible time as well! so lets just not get into it, but I finished and loved every minute of it after it was over. Well shortly after that race I wound up in the hospital with pneumonia for a week. It was bad! BUT I found out that I had Lupus, which is not a great thing, but it made me say, "OHHHH! no wonder everything hurts so bad and I never want to get out of bed!" So finding out was definitely a positive thing in the aspect of getting help to deal with it. THEN, shortly after that, I found out I was pregnant again! 9 months later this little munchkin arrived!
in between everything we managed to up and move our family from 29 Palms CA to Saratoga Springs UT. That brings me to now. I managed to gain 65 pounds this pregnancy, YIKES! and I have began to start running again. For a minute I felt like I lost myself in the wiping butts and feedings, and MOM MOM MOM!!! On the 1st of the year I decided to get back in the swing of things, I know, how cliche! It hasn't been easy, but I am finding my passion for running again. I am not going to focus on the weight loss, I am just going to start training for this years marathons and races and let my body figure it out. I can't wait to get to know people, support and be supported, and document this journey! Get off the pavement! This bitch is coming through!
